Project year: 2017
Project location: Jull Street Mall, Armadale WA
Project client: City of Armadale
Alister Yiap was commissioned by the City of Armadale to create a vibrant, interactive artwork which represents the Past, Present and Potential of the Armadale community.
The ’Y’ shaped intersection represents the making of choices and decisions which shape the future or potential of the community.
The sculpture consists of pillars soaring into the sky; its form is suggestive of wings with the pillars standing as gatekeepers or guardian angels.
The artwork is lit up at night and brightens up the space in darkness and highlights the sculpture during the evenings.
